• Introduction to Vision Transformers and their applications in Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing Speaker: Santiago Ferreiros Resumen: Vision transformer, or ViT, is a computer vision model that employs a transformer-like architecture over patches of the image as if they were tokens of a sentence in natural language processing (NLP). Vision transformer allows working more effectively than convolutional neural networks (CNN's) on computer vision tasks such as image classification or image super resolution, as well as multimodal tasks that integrate images with text such as such as image-text retrieval (IR), visual question answering (VQA) or visual entailment (VE).

• Quantum neural networks: what, how and why Speaker: Carolina Allende Resumen: Quantum neural networks such as the Variational Quantum Classifier (VQC) make up some of the most interesting and eye catching algorithms in quantum computation today. Starting from basic concepts of quantum mechanics and quantum computation, in this talk we will explore what quantum neural networks are, how to feed classical data into and train quantum networks and discuss their potential advantages and limitations when compared to classical deep learning.

• Carolina Allende: I’m a data scientist and university professor with a solid background in both physics and math. I’m also an assistant researcher in quantum computing working specifically in developing algorithms towards efficient quantum deep learning.

• Santiago Ferreiros: I'm machine learning engineer and university professor with extensive experience teaching engineering subjects in the fields of mathematics and programming. Passionate about developing machine learning models with a positive impact on our society.
